TdF ~ Update
Now we're into the third week of the TdF, I remember why some call it le Tour de Fatigue! Late nights and early mornings aren't the best combination. Don't get me wrong, I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the TdF (go Cadel!!!), in fact I seem to be doing more watching than knitting!
My socks are coming along... they're at the heels. I'm still hoping to have them done by the time the race hits
l'Avenue des Champs-Élysées early Monday morning (AEST).

TdF ~ Day 6, 2008
Here are a couple of pics of my TdF projects.

Day 9 - TdF07
Well... stage 8 of this year's Tour de France turned out to be a nightmare for Aussies. We started the day with 5 Australian riders in the race, and ended the day with only two. Poor Stuart O'Grady and Michael Rogers crashed and Robbie McEwen was "too slow". *sigh* Since all three suffered injuries in crashes, all I can say is "Get Well Soon" guys. I enjoyed watching you ride and I look forward to seeing you all in next year's race.

Here's "Take Two" on the sock. It actually fits now LOL. Will start on the other one ASAP. I just realised the coverage has already started for tonight, so I'm off to watch.
Thanks for the comments, I'm planning on writing up the "Canterbury Dash" info and I'll also let you know about the toe pattern.
Go Cadel!

Day 8 - TdF07
Here's what I worked on last night...

It wasn't supposed to be, but it became a "swatch"... it was too big (even though I'd done the maths!)
It's gone to the frog pond and I'll try again.

Day 6 - TdF07

More progress (and I have a hole in my finger to prove it!) on the socks. There's about 2 to 3 inches left on each before I start the toes.
I will take a 'daytime' shot, once they're done and when the weather cooperates. (It's very rainy here which is a good thing, considering we're in a drought and under water restrictions.)

Day 5 - Tour de France 2007
It feels like I'm making slow progress...

Note: I've tried several times to post the picture, so I'll check back later to see if it worked. If not... imagine the same socks, but with gussets finished plus a little more.

Day 4 - Tour de France 2007
Bonjour mes amis!
Aujourd'hui nous avons plus de progrès sur les chaussettes.

Heel flaps are done, heels are turned and gusset stitches have been picked up, so I'm working on the gussets now.
Here's hoping the peloton rides faster tonight! (Stage 3 made for a very late night/early morning!)

Day 3 - Tour de France 2007
Whilst I watched the cycling, gasped at the nasty crash, and admired the gorgeous Flemish countryside, I knitted...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Robbie'll be in green again soon.

Day 2 - Tour de France 2007
Well... I thought he was down and out, but
Robbie McEwen somehow managed to pull off a stunning victory in the first stage of the Tour de France. Yay!
Meanwhile, I finished one sock leg and started on the next...

Day 1 - Tour de France 2007
I'm taking part in the
Tour de France KAL.
In support of
Robbie McEwen, he's an Aussie, I joined the "Maillot Vert" category.

Here's the progress I made watching the prologue...

I'm only knitting these socks whilst I'm actually watching the Tour de France, so at other times of the day, I'll be working on my other SIPs (Socks In Progress).

SIP
Here's my current Sock In Progress.

Red is hard to get an accurate photo of! I'm using
Fleece Artist Merino ~ (FA don't name their colours) and this picture, taken when I received the wool, is a more accurate colour representation...

It's a red/pink mix. When I unwound the skein and wound it into a yarn cake, it looked more like pink with red accents, but (thankfully) it's knitting up as 'red'. (I know my SnB friends will agree, as they saw it first-hand)

Still alive...
Sorry, haven't had much computer/blogging time of late as I've been madly knitting the "Bloomin' Feet" socks. I'm delighted to say that they're finished! I enjoyed knitting them, but at the same time I'm relieved that they're done. I'll post a pic next week, after my BF pal receives them.

What am I knitting?
Haven't posted much lately but I have been knitting when I've had some spare moments.
1. The "snappy" socks (so called because they led to my needle crisis ~ waiting on needles to finish these)

2. A birthday gift for a friend. They're almost done, she just needs to try them on so I can measure where to start the toe decreases.

3. Bloomin' Feet socks for my swap pal. They're my first L A C E socks! I'm down to the heels, so they should be finished soon too.
(No picture but I need to take one)

Project Spectrum & SIP
Project Spectrum 2 is off and running. The February/March colours are BLUE, WHITE and GREY.
My current SIP fits under the 'blue' category...

The yarn was a
Christmas pressie. It's Pink Cottage yarn, exclusive to
Fringe.

I had a query yesterday about
Yarn Aboard and what it was. Essentially, boxes are travelling around from knitter to knitter and when a box arrives at your place, it contains sock yarn and goodies for you. You take all those items out of the box and keep them. Then you place new items in the box and send it off to the next person. When you signed up you filled out a questionnaire your person knows what to send to you and you know what to send to the next person. It's a little like a secret swap, because you don't know who's sending to you and you don't know when the box will arrive. For more details see
here.
