Checking in

24 March 2006
I've not been about much as watching the Commonwealth Games is affording me lots of knitting time. I'm deeply entrenched in my next project and I promise to put up a photo tomorrow (when I'm on my computer again).

Thanks for the comments about my red and blue socks. I'm really looking forward to wearing them, just as soon as the weather cools down some! (Supposed to be 30c here tomorrow).

  • We can't see the Commonwealth games on t.v. here in Southern California, but my best friend and I have been keeping a close watch on the running events via computer as her BIL was running the 200m EAD. He placed 3rd. Yah Vitalis!

I am completely addicted to watching sporting events like the CG. Great knitting company.

BTW, I love the socks you are making. 2 at once is 1 too many for me.

  • Congrats to Vitalis! I think I saw that race! Was that the one where they had false starts and mis-starts galore? Seriously the starter took eons to get the race underway.

Sadly the CG have finished now, but at least there's still the cricket (Australia's playing South Africa in SA) so I've been watching that in the evenings.

Thanks for the compliments on the socks. This is the first time I've tried knitting two at once. For the other two pairs, I found I was really reluctant to start the second sock, as I kept feeling "finished" when I'd done the first one.

So, weirdly, knitting them this way actually seems quicker than knitting one at a time.
